Jermain Defoe has left Bournemouth's pre-season preparing camp in Spain to make a trip back to England and go to the burial service of youthful Sunderland fan Bradley Lowery on Friday.
Amid his time at Sunderland, the England striker struck up a dear fellowship with Bradley, who passed on July 7 from an uncommon type of malignancy matured only six-years of age.
Bournemouth posted a message on the club's authentic Twitter channel which read: "@IAmJermainDefoe has today left our pre-season preparing camp and come back to the UK for the burial service of Bradley Lowery."
